Miami Beach studies cash incentive to get municipal employees to move into city

Fewer than 200 of Miami Beach’s roughly 2,100 city employees live within city limits, and commissioners may offer incentives to raise the number.
Commissioner Micky Steinberg brought up the issue at a May committee meeting, proposing the city look to employee living stipends starting with a pilot program targeting first responders. A shortage of affordable housing, she said, is probably a big reason workers commute in.
