Miami Beach gearing spring break plans to older crowd

Miami Beach officials have committed to spend at least $1.4 million on programming next March over spring break, with a focus on events that appeal to an older crowd.
This January, Miami Today reported, the city opted not to go through with a $1.5 million spring break pilot that included activities four nights per week throughout the month of March to be programmed by Tom Bercu Presents. As officials predicted, the spring break crowd still came (along with thousands of other adult visitors) according to a commission memo, and over 1,000 arrests were made.
