Miami Beach advances districts to pay to bury power lines

The City of Miami Beach is moving forward on the process of undergrounding power lines and creating special assessment districts to pay for it.

Over 60% of Beach residents want undergrounding, according to mailers sent out in 2018. At January’s Neighborhood and Community Affairs Committee Meeting, commissioners agreed to direct staff to go to utility companies and get estimates for the cost of a binding calculation for the work and bring that information back to the March meeting…To read the full story click here
