Miami aims to cut costs, commission seeks more say-so

As the City of Miami looks to scale back spending because of the pandemic, commissioners are asking for more of a dialogue.
At last week’s meeting, the city administration presented the mid-year budget amendment, which included a reduction of $10.8 million in expenditures across city departments. The city is projecting a loss of $21 million in revenues for this fiscal year. The city is also looking to defund $1 million in capital projects funded during this fiscal year.
