Water quality results in areas of the Haulover Inlet, the Intercoastal and Oleta River State Park prompted the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade on Wednesday to lift a prior precautionary advisory to avoid recreational water activities in those areas issued three days earlier.
However, Bal Harbour Beach, as of Feb. 6, remained under the advisory and was being monitored by state health department personnel.
The advisory, according to a water and sewer department release, is the result of a wastewater discharge from a mechanical failure at a pump station at 350 Sunny Isles Blvd.
