Mayor told to keep tabs on Ultra-big events for commissioners

Though it made no mention of Ultra Music Festival, a new directive requiring that Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Giménez’s administration inform county lawmakers ahead of big events in the county was written with the festival’s most recent iteration in mind.
Miami-Dade commissioners this month unanimously approved an item, sponsored by Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr., ordering the county administration to give them at least two weeks’ notice of all events with expected attendances of 25,000 per day or greater.
