Mayor raises red flag in county land sales and leases as 10% don’t comply

More than 10% of properties that Miami-Dade County has conveyed to private interests over the past decade have exceeded the time granted for development or aren’t complying with other conditions that the county set for their use, a survey of 934 such properties ordered by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has found.
“I believe the entire process needs to be redesigned if we are to achieve our stated objectives for development of infill, affordable, and workforce homeownership,” the mayor wrote in a memo to county commissioners.
