Major three-way land deal hinges on county battle for seat at city table

Two months after Miami-Dade lawmakers agreed to extend the life of the Omni CRA under condition that it add one seat for a county representative, Miami commissioners have yet to decide whether to accept the action, which is pivotal to a major three-way land deal.
County commissioners in June voted to reset the expiration date of the Omni CRA from 2030 to 2047, a condition necessary to allow a complex land deal between Miami-Dade Public Schools, developer Crescent Heights and the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts to advance.
