Kendall Parkway hangs in balance in expressways case

As Miami-Dade is embroiled in two lawsuits whose outcomes will decide the future of the proposed $1 billion Dolphin Expressway extension into West Kendall, the county commissioner who represents the area hasn’t yet given up on the project.
The future of the 13-mile “Kendall Parkway” expansion has been in limbo since Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bill last month to abolish the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority (MDX) – the local body that operates five county toll roads and would have overseen the parkway’s construction – and replace it with a new agency with greater state control.
