Insurance rates rise 25%, homeowners get sticker shock

So far, 2020 has seen a global pandemic, the death of a supreme court justice, a heated battle between two presidential candidates, and, for South Floridians, an unprecedented cost hike in residential insurance rates.
Homeowners this year have been left with “sticker shock” upon seeing these numbers, which Keyes Insurance President Ryan Papy said increased by up to 100% for some unlucky owners.
