Homestead steel mill buy of county land hits third delay

A company planning a $224 million micro steel mill on 123 acres of former Homestead Air Reserve Base land now owned by Miami-Dade County has received a third extension of time to prove it has the money to handle the project.
The extension gives Miami-Dade Steel LLC until May 1, 2022, to show the county “that it has obtained no less than $224 million to develop and build” and extends the deadline to May 22, 2022, to finish due diligence.
