Homestead Air Reserve Base won’t get combat missile squadron

Homestead Air Reserve Base, one of four possible sites under consideration, will not become the first air reserve base to host a squadron of F35-A combat missiles.
“The Department of the Air Force selected the 301st Fighter Wing, Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, TX, as the Air Force Reserve Command F-35A Lighting II operational beddown location after completing the required environmental impact analysis,” said Sean P. Houlihan, chief of the department’s Operations Division. He said the Air Force released the decision last week.
