Health careers-focused middle school delays opening a year

Larkin Health Sciences Charter Middle School, which is focused on putting pupils onto a health industry career path and which was awarded $5 million in county bond funding last year with that in mind, has pushed back its grand opening from August 2018 to August 2019.
“There was a delay in negotiating the charter school contract with Miami-Dade County Public Schools due to some changes that were required by the state,” said Dr. Jack Michel, president and chairman of Larkin Community Hospital. “Approval of the contract can start now or a year from now.”…To read the full story click here
