Funding North Corridor Metrorail might be harder than approval was

It took Miami-Dade’s transportation planning board little more than half an hour to green-light plans for a $1.9 billion northbound Metrorail extension to the Broward County line. But the next step – securing funds for the massive project – promises to be much more arduous.
Miami-Dade lawmakers, municipal representatives and a school board member on Oct. 31 OK’d the 10-mile rail solution, for which the county is requesting federal and state funding matches.
