For first time, homeless trust reaches out for community funding

Already stretched to its limit and running out of funds, the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust is asking for the community’s help to continue to provide crucial services for the homeless population.
With the help of a matching grant like Miami Foundation’s $50,000 and using every penny from the already 30% reduced food and beverage tax revenue, the trust is currently sheltering 3,245 individuals at various shelter homes and hotels and overseeing 892 unsheltered homeless people with a growing crisis of senior homelessness, who are currently the most vulnerable due to the pandemic.
