Floral industry wilts, Miami’s global trade bedridden

In the middle of night in a pocket of warehouses near the airport, there’s a lot less happening right now.
That’s because the Covid-19 pandemic has upended the floral industry, said Christine Boldt, the executive vice president of the Association of Floral Importers of Florida. Typically during those hours, the floral industry is in full swing, as flowers from Colombia and Ecuador make their way into the country.
