Five-year contract secures film festival’s new downtown Miami

The Miami Film Festival, which moved from Miami Beach to downtown a year ago, has firmed up its commitment by signing a five-year contract with the Silverspot Cinema at 300 SE Third St., said Jaie Laplante, the festival’s executive director.
“We’ve never done that before,” Mr. Laplante said, speaking to a meeting of the Downtown Development Authority’s Enterprise Committee last week.
