Fisher Island seeks longer port use for barge before it exits

The Fisher Island Community Association is seeking to extend a lease for its barge serve at PortMiami for an additional year with two additional-six-month options while the association prepares to shift the barge site to property it owns on Miami Beach’s Terminal Island.

The association has been leasing a site on the county’s Dodge Island seaport since 1998. That lease and an amended period expired June 15. The proposed lease would end June 15, 2020.
