With final pacts delayed, MIA airlines get interim use agreements

County commissioners Tuesday authorized the Aviation Department to issue interim airline use agreements until a successor airline use agreement is approved. The current one expires April 30.
Deputy Mayor Jack Osterholt said the use agreement is the primary contractual document between the county and airlines using Miami International Airport. It sets the fees and charges that each airline must pay as well as programs to benefit the airlines. These include the airlines’ rights to approve or disapprove capital improvements and participate in an aviation user credit program that allows the airlines to delay payment of fees and charges until the month after they are incurred and pay discounted fees based on timely payment…To read the full story click here
