Downtown Palmetto Bay rezoning a residential hot button

While Palmetto Bay’s negotiations with a developer to revamp its downtown haven’t advanced much in the past six months, depending on whom you ask, the South Dade municipality has made strides elsewhere for the area.
A project to upgrade Franjo Road, the main roadway through the center of the village, is almost done. Another project to repave Southwest 184th street, which divides Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay, is also nearly finished.
