Downloads of contact tracing apps still below 1%

Downloads of Miami-Dade’s mobile contact-tracing app grew by a third over the past month, according to new figures provided by the county, but adoption of the technology still sorely falls short of what’s needed to stymie the coronavirus’ spread.
Miami-Dade officially launched CombatCovid MDC two months ago on Apple and Android. As of Nov. 20, about 11,275 people have downloaded the app, said Jacques Bentolila, deputy director of Internal Services.
