Doral balks at paying for 11 miles of canals affecting the region

A resolution to renew a now-lapsed five-year agreement with the county for Doral to pay to manage more than 11 miles of canals that affect much of South Florida was pulled from the city council agenda after city officials asked to see it all in writing.
An adopted resolution would renew a five-year accord with Miami-Dade’s stormwater management and canal management that expired Sept. 30. Due to the pandemic, the county couldn’t begin the renewal process before the expiration date. Miami-Dade has provided a new proposed agreement to extend through 2025.
