Development near Metrorail gets another dip into surtax funds

A mixed development near the Douglas Road Metrorail station that already received millions in Miami-Dade surtax dollars to build affordable housing will get another financial boost from the same funding pool.

Commissioners this month OK’d a resolution by Raquel Regalado to lend $1.5 million to Hollywood-based developer Cornerstone Group to further fund Platform 3750, an eight-story mixed development with market-rate rentals, affordable units, retail space and government offices.
