Dade Heritage Trust to renovate, rent Little Havana building

With a $1 million county grant, Dade Heritage Trust has begun a pilot project to provide affordable housing while preserving a historic building in Miami’s Little Havana.
The grant enabled the historic preservation revolving fund for affordable housing, which helped Dade Heritage Trust to purchase a two-story, four-unit multi-family apartment building at 1401 S.W. Fifth St. Built in 1935, the building will be historically designated, renovated and be offered as affordable housing for its current tenants.
