Curtain rising for Miami Beach workforce housing for ballerinas, artists, teachers

Construction on a seven-story tower in Miami Beach set to provide workforce housing for artists, teachers and ballerinas could begin as early as this fall if plans pass city commissioners this week and the Beach’s Historic Preservation Board in April.
The public-private project would be owned by the city, developed by Servitas and, upon completion, operated by non-profit 501(c)(3) organization Community Finance Corporation, according to a memo from Interim City Manager Raul Aguila.
