County targets growth of hate crimes against Jews

Miami-Dade lawmakers have taken aim at a growing trend of hate crimes toward Jews in Florida, moving to broaden the definition of anti-Semitism here and join efforts to do the same across the state.
This month, the county commission unanimously approved two items that together signal strong support for Florida’s Jewish communities, which last year experienced a 20% increase in anti-Semitic attacks, according to a yearly audit by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
