County shines spotlight on campaign conduct near polling places

Something must be done about aggressive and intrusive political demonstrations at voting locations in Miami-Dade, according to county Commissioner Javier Souto, who said that intimidation at polling places last year may have turned away voters.
“Democracy requires that people act in the proper fashion, the proper way – be civilized, be gentle, exercise your duty as part of this great democratic process – the system we have [in] this great republic,” he said. “When you interfere with that… you’re interfering in the process, which is a violation of the Voting Rights Act, of everything.”…To read the full story click here
