County probes how to protect farming from sea level rise

As climate change continues to increase in severity, Miami-Dade lawmakers are asking staff to investigate how one of its effects, sea level rise, is impacting the county’s agricultural community in the south.
County commissioners last month directed Mayor Carlos Giménez’s office to study sea level rise in South Dade and by March report on its findings, including recommendations for how best to protect the agricultural community and its products.
