County moving to put more transit zoning under its wing

Miami-Dade’s six-year effort to reclaim zoning jurisdiction over Metrorail-adjacent land in the City of Miami may soon pull another cluster of parcels valued at $10 million into the county’s fixed-Guideway Rapid Transit Development Zone (RTZ).
County commissioners last week gave a preliminary OK to an ordinance creating the Santa Clara Subzone of the RTZ, which would include a Metrorail station and 11 properties east of the rail line along Northwest 12th Avenue.
