County halfway through replacing old Metrorail cars

Miami-Dade has passed a few milestones in an ongoing effort to replenish its aged Metrorail and Metrobus fleets.
As of this week, the county is past the halfway mark in replacing its 35-year-old Metrorail cars, as 70 of 136 railcars ordered from manufacturer Hitachi Rail Italy have now been delivered and 52 are in service, numbers from Transportation Director Alice Bravo’s department show.
