Coral Gables won’t buy its oldest commercial site to save it

After months of deliberation and meetings with the owners of the building, the city of Coral Gables decided Tuesday against purchasing the old LaSalle Cleaners building to save it from demolition and probably becoming a parking lot.
The asking price of the property was too high because of the large amount of infrastructure and other projects that the city is planning for 2019, the city decided.
