Carvalho vows to retain school funds by negotiation, not litigation

Last month, Gov. Rick Scott signed Florida House Bill 7069, a widely controversial omnibus bill that forces schools districts to share with charter schools local tax dollars. But all is not lost, said Alberto Carvalho, Miami-Dade Public Schools superintendent.
“We’re looking at a bill with a number of moving parts,” and one that leaders of other school districts have said they will take legal action to stop, “but I believe the art of negotiation is more powerful than the threat of litigation.”…To read the full story click here
