Business workforce needs keep schools’ technical training afloat

Career and technical training at public schools in Miami-Dade has seen a stable number of enrollments for high school students and post-secondary education despite the pandemic because of the use of technology, as industries are in need of workforce.
Labor market demand and the need to adequately prepare staffing has maintained career and technical education programs with almost 81,900 high school students involved in a career or technical course in Miami-Dade as of last year, said Dr. Lupe Ferran Diaz, executive director of the Department of Career and Technical Education (CTE).
