Bus impact study delays MacArthur’s dedicated bike lanes

Plans for dedicated bicycle lanes on the outside shoulders of the MacArthur Causeway have been delayed by more than 18 months while state and county transportation personnel study how the lanes could affect bus rapid transit there.
Miami Beach commissioners voted unanimously April 10 to ask the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Miami-Dade County to take steps to ensure dedicated bus rapid transit infrastructure could later be built on the causeway’s outside lanes.
