Beach commission to hear 44-story limit on Alton Road site

A Miami Beach tower proposal at 500–700 Alton Road is stuck at 44 stories and no more than 484 feet tall after city commissioners on the Land Use and Development Committee rejected the developer’s loftier plan.
Developer Russell Galbut of Crescent Heights had proposed a 560-foot tower, saying the height is needed to sell residential units that aren’t on the water.
