Bayside Ferris wheel OK’d, but three hurdles remain

Bayside Marketplace got closer to needed OKs to erect a bayfront Ferris wheel downtown after a push June 27 from Miami commissioners. Now Bayside feels the pressure to jump through the remaining hoops with a goal of a whirling sky wheel by Super Bowl 2020.
The championship football game will be Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium.
Commissioners amended zoning to define “amusement ride” and to allow its “use by exception” for property zoned as Bayside is.
