Agency debates how poor a quadplex home buyer must be

Directors of the Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) voted unanimously June 27 to award a $1.6 million contract for the construction of a quadplex at 244 NW 16th St. But it was only after a lengthy discussion of who could buy a unit in the building.
Runu Construction was the highest-ranked of four companies that responded to a November 2018 invitation to bid on an affordable housing project, according to CRA documents. The company will build four units on the vacant lot, which the agency obtained from the City of Miami.
