Pilot plan OKs outdoor restaurant seating without a permit

A new pilot program allowing restaurants to provide outdoor seating to customers without first obtaining a permit will begin Friday. It’s set to run for nearly two years.
Miami-Dade commissioners March 2 approved a proposal by Joe Martinez to create the unnamed program, which is available to food service establishments through Dec. 31 in unincorporated areas zoned for neighborhood business and light manufacturing.
