500 Startups tech accelerator to put second headquarters in Miami

500 Startups, a venture capital and tech accelerator, has chosen Miami as its second US location, primarily to serve Latin America and the US East Coast, directors of Miami’s Downtown Development Authority learned Friday. Its first location is in Silicon Valley.

In partnership with the credit-card company Visa Latin America, the Knight Foundation and the downtown authority, 500 Startups will open a 7,000-square-foot office in the Federal Building on Northeast First Avenue and Northeast First Street, said Ana Paula González, head of Miami operations for the company.
