FRUIT FESTIVAL

   The Redland Summer Fruit Festival features local agriculture and tropical-fruit plants on display and for sale; educational workshops and demonstrations on various topics; and rare fruit samplings. FOR DAD

   Miami Science Museum hosts "Big Truck Day," honoring Father’s Day with free entry for dads with a paid child’s admission. The day features kids’ activities, raffles, giveaways and trucks galore. LOUISIANA BARBEQUE

PLAYWRIGHT SYMPOSIUM

   CityWrights five-day symposium is dedicated to the development, training, inspiration and mentorship of playwrights and other professionals who support them. The conference features a schedule of workshops and readings by master playwrights and panels with producers, publishers, editors and agents. This year’s featured professional is award-winning playwright Tina Howe. Other highlights include one-day intensive workshops for attorneys, educators and artists. Times vary. June 19-23.
