METROPOLIS

   The 2010 restoration of Fritz Lang’s "Metropolis" incorporates more than 25 minutes of newly discovered footage and a new recording of Gottfried Huppertz’s 1927 score. The black-and-white classic dramatizes the conflict between wealthy capitalists and rebellious subterranean laborers organized by a diabolical scientist capable of destroying them both. SHADOW DANCER

   Conspiracy thriller "Shadow Dancer" is set around an act of betrayal within a tight knit family. Single mother Collette McVeigh — a Republican living in Belfast with her mother and hardliner IRA brothers — is arrested for her part in an aborted IRA bomb plot in London. An MI5 officer offers her a choice: lose everything and go to prison or return to Belfast to spy on her own family. 6:45 p.m. Additional screenings through June 9. MAGIC FLUTE

   Mozart’s classic opera "The Magic Flute" is transformed in a new film version conceived and directed by Kenneth Branagh, with a newly-adapted libretto by Stephen Fry. The romantic adventure story of humanity and fellowship begins on the eve World War I, as a magical drama unfolds when a hero sets forth on a perilous journey in pursuit of love and peace in a world afflicted by death and destruction.
