SHAKESPEARE CELEBRATION

   Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebration presents a family-friendly afternoon with the "Bard of Avon" performed by Shakespeare Miami. Enjoy sonnets, a "fairy garden," costumes, dancing, sword fighting, arts & crafts and more. Noon-3 p.m. 4-6 p.m. "The Tempest" performance. POETRY IS DEAD

   O, Miami poetry festival hosts a "Poetry is Dead Parade," featuring a funeral procession in reverse and marching through Lummus Park with local students and arts group performances inspired by dead poets. POETRY READINGS

   O, Miami presents 2013 Inaugural poet Richard Blanco; Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore; and NBC’s Megan Amram reading poetry in the New World Symphony Hall.
