Miami-Dade assessments due early

    The new Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser, on the job a little over a month, already is making strategic plans for the department with a goal to reduce the number of property tax appeals lodged with the Value Adjustment Board.
   Carlos Lopez-Cantera's plan is to make proposed assessed values available to homeowners as early as April or May and to invite those who disagree with the working numbers to meet with department staff to try to resolve the issue before it goes farther.
