NEW LIGHT
The Lowe Art Museum hosts a preview reception for exhibit "Infinite Mirror: Images of American Identity," featuring the work of first-generation Americans and emerging new immigrant artists surveying themes of race, gender, religion, history, politics and family. Also hosted is a reception and lecture for "Stephen Knapp: New Light," featuring 14 new light paintings. 7 p.m. UM School of Business, Storer Auditorium for lecture. 8 p.m. Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami, 1301 Stanford Drive, Coral Gables, for reception. The City of Coral Gables presents "New Art for the New Year," an exhibit celebrating art from galleries in Coral Gables.
