The Adrienne Arsht Center presents The House Theatre of Chicago’s "The Nutcracker." Set in modern day, this holiday classic is not a ballet but rather a play about one loving family’s recovery from a terrible and surprising loss. Based on the original E.T.A. The Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre presents Jason Robert Brown’s musical "The Last Five Years," featuring Broadway star Janet Dacal and Christopher A. Kent. The musical explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The story chronicles the young couple’s romance in a new and exciting way: her story starts at the end of their relationship; his begins on the day they met.
