PLAYWRIGHT'S DELIGHT
"Absurd Celebration: The First International Festival of Virgilio Piñera's Theatre" features five plays by the late celebrated Cuban playwright. "Los Siervos/The Serfs" is performed by Teatro de la Luna from Cuba and directed by Raúl Martín. Written in 1955 as a mockery of the ideology of Soviet Communism, its director takes advantage of absurdist techniques, singing and dancing to produce a brilliant and funny play that from stage design to acting techniques is far from realism. 8 p.m. Fri.-Sat. 5 p.m. Sundays. Performance through Sept. 2. University of Miami Jerry Herman Ring Theatre, 1312 Miller Drive, Coral Gables. $15 students and seniors. $20 others. Details: (305) 284-3355 or www.miami.edu/ring.
