Canadian native Jowee Omicil has Haitian roots and plays the alto and tenor saxophone, soprano flute and clarinet. He headlines a "Jazz at MOCA AP Beach Series" outdoor concert. ACT OF CULTURE
As part of Knight Foundation's "Random Act of Culture," 200 singers, musicians and dancers from all over the county gather to present Miami's own "Ode to Joy." Features musicians from the Miami Music Project and the Frost School of Music, singers from the Miami Mass Choir and Master Chorale, drummers and dancers from Ife Ile Afro-Cuban dance company, and dance students from the 2012 Ailey Camp and the Edwin Holland Dance Ensemble.
