WINE APPRECIATION

   Books & Books offers firsthand experience with wine tasting in its New Year Wine Appreciation Class. Master the history of wine making, taste international wines and learn the art of wine and food pairing. Taught by wine-appreciation professor Patrick Alexander. FAMILY FEST

   The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts presents "Family Fest: Music "Round the World," featuring performances by Ballet Brika West African Dance Theater, Jeremy Plays Guitar, Fushu Daiko and Miami Music Project Honors Orchestra. 11:30 a.m. outdoor activities take place at the Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza. 2 p.m. "Olympic Sounds" by the Miami Music Project Honors Orchestra family performance inside the John S. and James L. MOMMY & ME

   Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden hosts "Mommy & Me Tea" on the veranda and in the ballroom of the Jean Ellen Dupont Shehan Visitor Center. Mothers, daughters and grandmothers delight in afternoon tea served at beautifully set tables, complete with fine china. The menu includes scones, mini tea sandwiches, cookies and petit fours. Live music by local guitarist Rob Friedman. Tea service begins at 3 p.m..
