MYSTERY ART SHOW
The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach hosts celebrity designers and established and emerging artists from Miami and around the world for the eighth edition of the Master’s Mystery Art Show to raise funds for the Florida International University Master’s in Fine Arts Program. Original 6-by-9-inch works of art are created by artists and signed only on the back to reveal the name after their sale. This year’s fashion designers include Romero Britto; Peruvian-born Eduardo de las Casas and former head Designer for Bill Blass and Perry Ellis, Jacqueline Quinn. Miami Dade College’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Initiatives host panel "Mexico’s Security Crisis," featuring experts discussing Mexico’s efforts against drug trafficking and how narco-trafficking has had social, political and economic effects in the country. Panelists include Jesús Alberto López Gonzalez, general director and professor at El Colegio de Veracruz, Mexico; Ariel Armony, CLAS director and professor, University of Miami; Professor Victor Vazquez Hernandez, MDC Social Sciences Chair; and Bruce Bagley, professor and chair of the political science department at University of Miami.
