THROUGH THE LENS
"Video, Generation 2011" coincides with Art Basel weekend and features contemporary video works that recapture issues by displacing them in order to explore their idealist potential through cultural sources from the mass media, human time, the singular and the intimate. The choice of the artist and video works that follow, attempt to put forth the recurring perspectives that traverse the imagination and the work artists that have chosen video and image as the main medium, while not exclusively, for their creation. Screenings include Bertrand Bonello's "Cindy, The Doll is Mine (D'après Cindy Sherman)" and Brice Dellsperger's "Body Double n°23 (d'après le Dahlia noir, Black Dahlia, de Brian de Palma.)" 9:30 p.m. Miami Beach Cinematheque, 1130 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Free. Details: www.mbcinema.com.
